ALBAWABA- Since early morning, hundreds of Israeli settlers have been storming the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound under the protection of Israeli police forces.
The storming comes in anticipation of mass raids planned for the upcoming days, coinciding with the Jewish Passover holiday.
This escalation follows calls from extremist Israeli groups urging settlers to storm the mosque in large numbers, even offering to cover travel expenses for those coming from distant areas.
The move has been widely viewed as a provocation, further intensifying tensions in the occupied Palestinian territories.
Meanwhile, in Gaza City, Israeli forces launched a fresh airstrike on the Baptist (Al-Ahli) Hospital, marking the second bombing of the facility.
The raid targeted the hospital’s reception and emergency departments with two missiles, completely destroying the oxygen station, surgical units, and emergency infrastructure.
Medical staff and patients were given a very limited window to evacuate. Disturbing images on social media show civilians dragging ailing relatives on hospital beds amid the chaos.
The Israeli army claimed the attack on Al-Ahli Hospital in coordination with the Shin Bet, alleging it was being used by Hamas operatives.
This follows a previous strike on the same hospital on October 17, 2023, just ten days after the October 7 operation.
That earlier attack resulted in 472 deaths and left 340 wounded, according to Gaza health authorities and international organizations, making it one of the deadliest Israeli strikes on Gaza’s healthcare sector.
