Israeli Likud chairman and candidate for prime minister MK Ariel Sharon met earlier Monday with representatives of the other opposition parties to discuss the diplomatic situation, reported The Jerusalem Post.
It added that the participants agreed to work in concert against Prime Minister Ehud Barak's government and declared that promises contained in any agreement reached by the current government with the Palestinians will not obligate the next government.
Meanwhile, Justice Minister Yossi Beilin has said that the Government is inclined to accept US President Bill Clinton's bridging proposals regarding a permanent settlement between Israel and the Palestinian Authority, said the paper in a separate report on the same day.
Beilin added that Israel would attach various reservations to the proposals in its response. However, a senior diplomatic source told Army Radio that it is clear that the reservations cannot be too wide-ranging.
Haaretz reported earlier that both Israel and the PNA are likely to accept the proposals as the basis for an agreement, despite the Palestinian declared pessimistic stands regarding the deal – (Several Sources)
