ALBAWABA - According to the Israeli Broadcasting Service, the Israeli government has approved the Haredim Military Drafting bill, despite growing calls of concerns over having the conservative Jews drafted in the IOF.

The broadcasting service also reported that one of the government's judiciary advisors strongly opposed the passage of the law, as she believed such a law would trigger a massive backlash.

Attorney-General Gali Baharav-Miara announced his strong opposition of the bill's passage saying that " there is a legal restriction on advancing the haredi conscription law proposed by Prime Minister Netanyahu earlier this week".

"The proposal ignores the new and urgent needs of the IDF, lacks factual infrastructure, and disregards the position of the Defense Minister" Baharav-Miara added.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu revealed on Wednesday that he has decided to move forward with a conscription law authored by Benny Gantz, which passed its first reading under the previous government.

Netanyahu's office released a statement regarding the matter. "In order to bridge the differences and bring about a broad agreement, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu decided to advance the draft law that passed the first reading in the previous Knesset," the statement reads.

Al-Aqsa Flood operation against Israel

Hamas military group announced on Oct. 7 a military operation called "Al-Aqsa Flood" against Israel which is the biggest offensive in decades.

Palestinian fighters “infiltrated” Israel from the Gaza Strip and captured military bases and took hostages as photos and videos went viral online showing Hamas fighters on vehicles inside Israel and others paragliding into occupation territory.

In response, Israeli armed forces announced targeting Hamas positions inside the Gaza Strip. Thousands were killed, and dozens of thousands of others were injured in the Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip.
