ALBAWABA - According to local media, a pack of Israeli troops have stormed the refugee camp of Jenin raiding homes, ransacking roads, and destroying infrastructure.
WAFA news agency reported that the army, accompanied by bulldozers, entered the city from several points, raided several neighborhoods, deployed snipers on the rooftops of several buildings, and imposed a siege on the Jenin camp.
WAFA added that two young men were arrested from their vehicle and taken into Israeli custody. Some of the Israeli forces were stationed at the entrance of the emergency department in Jenin Hospital.
Clashes sparked between residents of the camp and Israeli forces in the "Cinema Square" area in Jenin, Anadolu reported. Social media users shared pictures and footage of army bulldozers and gunfire across the refugee camp streets.
The director of Al-Razi Hospital, Fawaz Hammad, told WAFA that a young man was shot in the shoulder by the Israeli forces and that his injury was described as stable, while earlier, three citizens were injured by occupation bullets.
The Israeli army had declared the city of Jenin and its camp a closed military zone and deployed its forces with large reinforcements in several neighborhoods.
In the West Bank city of Hebron, the Ministry of Health reported a man was critically injured and taken to Al-Ahli Hospital for further treatment.
A total of 242 Palestinians have since been killed by Israeli forces in the West Bank in addition to more than 2,850 injured, according to the Palestinian Health Ministry.
