ALBAWABA - Israeli soldiers have extended their advance into the Mevasi region south of Gaza and have increased their military presence northwest of Rafah. Artillery fire was used in the escalation, which led to Palestinians who had been displaced suffering injuries.
According to reports, there have been military activities by the Israelis in the Shawkat region and south of Region Park. Residents were reportedly forced to run towards Khan Yunis when they saw military trucks.
Mevasi, a region that Israel once declared safe, is devoid of essential utilities including power, communication networks, and sewage facilities. There are acute shortages of food, water, and medical care for Palestinian refugees who have fled to this region.
According to the Gaza Health Ministry, Israeli airstrikes in the last 24 hours alone have resulted in 47 Palestinian dead and 52 wounded in Gaza. These assaults have caused 86,429 injuries and 37,765 deaths among Palestinians in Gaza since October 7, 2023.
The situation is made worse by the continuous difficulties faced by humanitarian workers in retrieving corpses because of Israeli military access restrictions. Furthermore, essential public facilities like schools and hospitals—which have functioned as shelters—are still being attacked.
According to the Palestine Red Crescent, eighteen ambulances, or 36 percent of their fleet in Gaza, are now out of commission owing to fuel shortages brought on by Israeli blockades. Emergency response activities in the area have been hindered by gasoline delivery delays, even though UNRWA has made an attempt to provide fuel assistance.
