ALBAWABA - Israeli soldiers conducted massive military operations on Saturday to target border towns and villages in a major invasion into many parts of southern Lebanon. Excavating, building earthen barriers, and closing roads were among the activities that increased tensions in the already unstable area.
Two Merkava tanks, a bulldozer, and a "Hummer" vehicle were among the Israeli forces who reportedly advanced from the town's outskirts of Houla. When the army arrived to the Wadi Al-Sloukhi triangle (Majdal Selem, Shaqra, and Meiss El Jabal), they worked to clear the roads, put up barricades, and shut off access to neighboring communities.
Tanks and bulldozers were used for excavation work on the Wadi Al-Sloukhi road between Qabriha and Bani Hayyan, among other locations where Israeli soldiers operated. The Kfar Shouba Heights and Markaba-Talloussa were among the more than five sites where comparable intrusions occurred.
An major explosion that was ascribed to Israeli troops took place in the eastern section of Kfar Shouba. Following the Lebanese army's deployment, Israeli forces entered Wadi Sabia, advancing with tanks and bulldozers, firing rounds, and sweeping the area.
Israeli forces barricaded the main thoroughfares from the villages of Burj Al-Muluk and Deirmimas to Kfar Kila. Tanks increased the military presence in the Shaqra, Meiss El Jabal, and Houla triangle.
On Sunday, displaced people in border communities said that they received calls from foreign numbers cautioning them not to go back to their homes. The Israeli military is thought to have given these warnings, which have increased villagers' anxieties amid the ongoing escalation.
Due to Israeli military activities that have obstructed access and sparked fears of further fighting in southern Lebanon, the situation is still tense.
