Israeli cabinet minister, Rehavam Ze'evi, called Sunday for bombing Palestinian President Yasser Arafat’s house in the Gaza Strip “in response to the wave of terrorist attacks that reached a crescendo last week,” reported Haaretz newspaper.
Arafat's house sustained damage during Israeli helicopter raids on Gaza last week that killed two Palestinians and injured 60 others.
The raids were launched in retaliation for a series of bomb attacks that killed three Israelis and injured tens of others. But another cabinet minister, Danny Naveh, rejected Ze'evi's recommendation, saying his proposal was made solely to reap headlines. "All the ministers have proposals and ideas, but Minister Ze'evi's proposal is neither serious nor responsible, and such statements must not be promulgated during a cabinet meeting," Naveh was quoted as saying – Albawaba.com
