ALBAWABA - Some Hebrew reports indicated that the Israeli army would not withdraw from the areas it controls in the Gaza Strip, which are called the yellow line areas.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said in a statement last night that the announcement of a technocratic government in the Gaza Strip was "merely a symbolic gesture."

On the other hand, statements by Israeli officials since Wednesday confirm that the announcement by U.S. envoy Steve Wittkof of the launch of the second phase of President Donald Trump's 20-point plan to end the war in Gaza remains merely a "symbolic step" for Tel Aviv, and will not change anything on the ground in the near future.

Netanyahu added that "Hamas is required to abide by the requirements of the agreement and make 100% of the effort to bring back the dead prisoners, down to the last one of them."
