ALBAWABA - Avichay Adraee, the Arab media division of the Israeli Army Spokesperson's Unit, confirmed in an X post on Thursday that the Israeli army has killed Mohammed Deif in Gaza.
Mohammed Deif is a prominent Palestinian militant and the head of the Ezzedeen al-Qassam Brigades.
The Israeli army's alleged announcement of killing Mohammed Deif came one day after the rocket attack that killed Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran.
Avichay Adraee posted on X allegedly confirming the killing of the Al-Qassam Brigades head Mohammed Deif. The post contained a video allegedly showing the moment when Israeli forces bombed the place where Deif was staying.
In detail, he said, weeks ago, Israeli warplanes carried out a raid on the compound where Mohammed Deif and Rafeh Salama, the commander of Hamas's Khan Younis Brigade, were staying.
Adraee continued to say the death of Deif and Salama was confirmed several weeks ago. He further claimed that many other Hamas members were also targeted in the airstrike in Gaza.
The Health Ministry in Gaza announced on August 1 that the death toll in Gaza amid Israel's continuous attacks since Oct. 7 has risen to 39,480 with over 91,128 injured in the Gaza Strip.
