According to a report by Israel Army Radio on Sunday, Kuwait last week rejected a bid from the chief of the Hamas politburo, Khaled Mishaal, to open an office for the Palestinian Islamist group in the Gulf emirate.

The radio quoted Kuwaiti officials as saying that the Palestinians had supported Iraq during its invasion of their country in 1990.

Previous reports said that Mishaal, who along with three of his colleagues was arrested and then exiled from Jordan in 1999, had met with Kuwaiti officials and MPs in recent months - Albawaba.com
