ALBAWABA - In a post on X, The Israeli Army announced that an investigation is underway to check the possibility that Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar was killed during an operation in Gaza.

A picture circulated on social media of a body that some speculate might be Sinwar's, however, no confirmation has been released yet. Some even claim that the body has been transferred to Israel for examination.

Yahya Sinwar was selected as the head of Hamas' Political Bureau following the assassination of its former leader Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran later in July.

Haniyeh and one of his bodyguards were killed in the early hours of July 31st after the building where they were staying was struck. The news of his assassination led to stirring the already boiling pot in the region, sparking strikes on a wider scale between Israel and Hezbollah.
