ALBAWABA - In an Israeli airstrike targetting his home, Major Raed Al-Banna, the director of Police Investigations in the North Gaza province, was killed along with his wife and children.

Major Al-Banna was responsible for securing and facilitating the entry of aid trucks to northern Gaza, which has been facing the threat of famine as Israel imposed a brutal blockade on aid entry.

The killing of Al-Banna comes after Israel killed Brigadier General Fayeq Al-Mabhouh, Commander of the Police Service in Gaza. Al-Mabhouh was responsible for securing aid trucks in northern Gaza and refused to surrender to Israeli forces, engaging them before his death.
