ALBAWABA - Israeli army spokesperson Avichay Adraee shared a provocative post following the horrific attack on the Nasser Medical Complex, which led to the killing of more than a dozen Palestinians, including four journalists.
The Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza said that the Israeli army targeted the Nasser Medical Complex in Khan Younis twice, killing at least 20 people and injuring many others on Monday.
The ministry in Gaza said that Al Jazeera cameraman Mohammad Salama, the contractor for Reuters Hussam Al-Masri, and Mariam Abu Dagga, who has worked with the Associated Press and other outlets, and Moath Abu Taha, a freelance journalist, were all killed in the strike on the Nasser Medical Complex.
In addition, the Civil Defense organization revealed that in the second attack, one of their crew members also died.
The first attack hit the fourth floor of Nasser Medical Complex, the Palestinian health ministry outlined, then it was shotrly followed by a second attack which struck ambulance crews and emergency responders.
Following the attack, Israeli army spokesperson Avichay Adraee posted on X, "clarifying the attack and apologizing for killing civilians".
Adraee wrote, "The Chief of Staff, General Eyal Zamir, directed that a preliminary investigation be conducted as soon as possible."
He added, "The Defense Forces express regret for any injury among non-involved parties, and it does not target strikes towards journalists in their capacity as such, and works as much as possible to minimize harm to them, while continuing to maintain the security of its forces."
