ALBAWABA- Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz announced plans to construct a security fence in the eastern borders of the Jordan Valley, citing the need to allegedly prevent weapons smuggling and thwart terrorist activities in Palestinian refugee camps.
He further claimed the barrier would counter Iran’s efforts to establish an "eastern terrorist front" against Israel.
The announcement comes as the Israeli government, with backing from the Trump administration, pushes forward with its agenda to annex the West Bank while forcibly displacing Palestinians from Gaza. Trump recently hinted at an upcoming policy announcement on the matter.
Notably, Fox News cited the founder of the Friends of Zion organization, stating that Evangelicals support Israel because they believe Jews are persecuted for their religion.
The report also noted that Trump appointed Mike Huckabee as ambassador to Israel due to his strong support for Israeli sovereignty over the West Bank.
The organization has publicly affirmed that Judea and Samaria constitute the biblical heartland of Israel and belong to the Jewish people.
Meanwhile, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has reinforced his stance against allowing humanitarian aid into Gaza, despite a ceasefire deal signed weeks ago.
Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich escalated the rhetoric, declaring the complete halt of aid, threats to cut electricity and water, and a renewed military offensive.
He openly described these measures as part of a larger plan to occupy Gaza and implement a broader displacement strategy.
Additionally, Knesset Member Dan Illouz justified Israeli control over the West Bank, stating, “Judea and Samaria cannot become another terrorist state,” while referencing Israel’s withdrawal from Gaza and the subsequent rise of Hamas.
