As current peace talks between Israeli and Palestinian leaders draw to a close, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas says there's "no way" a resolution to the conflict would recgonize Israel as the Jewish state, AP reported.
Abbas also pushed back on the idea that he would accept only a piece of Israeli-annexed east Jerusalem as the future Palestinan capital, rather than complete soverignty in the city.
US Secretary of State John Kerry has travelled to the region more than ten times in an attempt to bridge the disagreements between the two sides.
It is widely believed that Kerry will present Abbas and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu with a framework agreement to continue talks past the April 29th deadline, at which point the talks are otherwise set to expire.
Abbas' comments follow reports suggesting that US President Barack Obama would put pressure on the Palestinians to agree to a deal.
