ALBAWABA - Axios released a report on Sunday, citing U.S. officials, saying that Israel presented a document with its conditions for a diplomatic solution to end the war in Lebanon.

The report said that Israel made its demands clear, stipulating that its forces must be allowed to engage in "active enforcement" to make sure that Hezbollah does not rebuild its military infrastructure close to the border.

The two U.S. sources said that Israel is also demanding the freedom of operating within the Lebanese airspace at all times. The sources told Axios that Lebanon and the international community are highly unlikely to agree to the Israeli demands as some will consider it an infringement upon its sovereignty.

Reuters reported that the White House could not be reached for comment on Axios' report, while the US Department of State did not respond to a request to comment on the Israeli demands. Additionally, the Lebanese and Israeli embassies in Washington did not respond to comment requests either.

Meanwhile, Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri has stated that Amos Hochstein's visit, which is scheduled for Monday, is "the last chance before the U.S. elections to reach a solution" in the nation.

He stated in an interview with Al-Arabiya television that he has been permitted by Hezbollah to negotiate on its behalf since 2006 and that Hezbollah supports U.N. resolution 1701. He went on to say that Resolution 1701 has widespread support among Lebanese, which he considers to be an uncommon occurrence.
