ALBAWABA - The Israeli military has confirmed that it carried out several airstrikes targeting Hezbollah positions in southern Lebanon, escalating tensions in the region.
According to a statement from the Israeli military, warplanes struck multiple missile launch sites in the village of Hadasa, which were allegedly used by Hezbollah to launch attacks on Israel's Tiberias region.
In addition, the Israeli air force reported that in the past two hours, they targeted several weapons depots, missile launchers, and military buildings across various locations, including the cities of Sidon and Nabatieh in southern Lebanon.
Since October 8, Israel has been engaged in controlled skirmishes with Hezbollah, with the conflict escalating significantly. On September 23, Israel launched hundreds of airstrikes on southern Lebanese cities, as well as in the Bekaa and Baalbek regions.
Lebanese authorities reported that the intensified airstrikes have killed 748 people, and nearly 150,000 people have been displaced as a result of the bombardment.
In response to Israel's ongoing attacks, Hezbollah has launched missile strikes primarily aimed at Israeli military bases in southern and eastern Lebanon. Despite these retaliatory attacks, no significant damage has been reported on the Israeli side.
The conflict has triggered a massive wave of displacement, with many fleeing from southern Lebanon to Beirut and the northern regions. Reports also indicate that some have crossed the border into Syria.
