Following Secretary of State Colin Powell's presentation at the U.N., Israeli officials are expecting the US to go ahead and wage war on Baghdad by the end of the month or in March.
According to the Jerusalem Post, Israeli security sources were surprised by how much intelligence information Powell revealed about Iraq's buildup of weapons of mass destruction. However, Israeli sources told Haaretz that some of the material Powell presented was based on information that Israel provided to the U.S.
According to the newspaper, Israel is concerned that if attacked by US and allied forces, Iraq could retaliate by firing missiles, or other means of assault such as by airplane. (Albawaba.com)
