Israeli security forces arrested 12 Palestinians early Wednesday in raids across the West Bank. Two Palestinians and two Israeli soldiers were wounded in clashes that ensued.
In the city of Ramallah a Tanzim member was arrested, four Islamic Jihad members were arrested near the town of Tul Karem, and two men were arrested in and around the town of Hebron.
Five men were also arrested near the town of Bethlehem, during which an Islamic Jihad member was wounded after being shot during his arrest, according to Haaretz.
In the northern West Bank town of Jenin, two Israeli soldiers and one Palestinian were also wounded by gunfire when clashes broke out during Israeli raids.
Another seven members of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) were arrested in East Jerusalem as well on Wednesday.
One of the seven men was a candidate running in the upcoming Palestinian elections.
The men were reportedly rallying at an East Jerusalem hotel and resisted arrest when apprehended by Jerusalem police, according to Ynet.
Israeli police authorities reiterated their stand regarding an absolute ban on Palestinian election campaigning in the city.
Over 100 Palestinians detained in southern Israel for illegal entry
Israeli security sources revealed that 104 Palestinians were arrested in southern Israel overnight Tuesday for being in the country without proper permits.
101 of the men were from the West Bank and three were from the Gaza Strip.
Two Israeli citizens were also arrested on suspicion of hosting some of the men overnight.
