ALBAWABA - Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu confirmed that his country agreed to the ceasefire deal with Iran that was proposed by US President Donald Trump on Tuesday morning.

Netanyahu's office explained in a statement that Tel Aviv reached all its war goals in Iran and that it agreed to the ceasefire.

"Israel has removed an immediate existential threat on two fronts – both in the nuclear domain and in the field of ballistic missiles," the statement said.

Earlier on Tuesday, Trump announced a ceasefire deal between Iran and Israel and confirmed that it started on Tuesday morning.

"THE CEASEFIRE IS NOW IN EFFECT. PLEASE DO NOT VIOLATE IT!" Trump said via Truth Social. The ceasefire deal was agreed on the 12th day of the war between Iran and Israel.

The president clarified earlier that a deal to halt fire would last for 24 hours, starting at around 0400 GMT Tuesday, with "Iran unilaterally halting all operations first. He said Israel would follow suit 12 hours later."

On early June 24 morning, Iran launched a barrage of missiles targeting Israel, as rescuers said at least five people were killed, and about 20 others were injured in Beersheba.

On the other hand, Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi had said that "as of now, there is NO 'agreement' on ceasefire or cessation of military operations," according to AFP.

"However, provided that the Israeli regime stops its illegal aggression against the Iranian people no later than 4 am Tehran time, we have no intention to continue our response afterwards," Araghchi wrote on social media.
