ALBAWABA - US President Donald Trump announced a ceasefire deal between Iran and Israel and confirmed that it started on Tuesday morning.
"THE CEASEFIRE IS NOW IN EFFECT. PLEASE DO NOT VIOLATE IT!" Trump said via Truth Social. It is worth noting that the ceasefire deal was agreed on the 12th day of the war between Tehran and Tel Aviv.
The president clarified earlier that a deal to halt fire would last for 24 hours, starting at around 0400 GMT Tuesday, with "Iran unilaterally halting all operations first. He said Israel would follow suit 12 hours later."
Before the ceasefire entered force, Iran carried out its last barrage of missiles targeting Israel as rescuers said five people were killed, and at least 20 were injured in Beersheba.
Neither Iran nor Israel has confirmed the agreement announced by Trump. However, hours before the ceasefire announcement, Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi had said that "as of now, there is NO 'agreement' on ceasefire or cessation of military operations," according to AFP.
"However, provided that the Israeli regime stops its illegal aggression against the Iranian people no later than 4 am Tehran time, we have no intention to continue our response afterwards," Araghchi posted on social media.
