Israel on Friday closed Mediterranean territorial waters off the Palestinian-controlled Gaza Strip between the cities of Khan Yunis and Rafah, an army statement said.
A military source said the move came after an alleged suicide boat attack November 7 on an Israeli navy boat in the area.
An Israeli army investigation said the attack was carried out by a Palestinian who came from Egypt on board a fishing boat packed with explosives that went off near an Israeli Dabur craft.
The blast caused no casualties or damage on the Israeli side. It has not been claimed by any group and the identity of the alleged suicide bomber has not been disclosed -- JERUSALEM (AFP)
