ALBAWABA - The Israeli army carried out air raids targeting Khan Younis and Nuseirat in the Gaza Strip despite the ceasefire deal which took effect on Sunday 0630GM, Al Jazeera reported.
At least eight people were killed amid continued airstrikes on the Gaza Strip, despite the ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas.
Israeli military spokesman Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari confirmed on Sunday: "The IDF continues to strike within the Gaza area at this time. According to the prime minister's directives, the ceasefire will not come into effect until Hamas fulfils its commitments."
The spokesperson noted that Israel won't be committing to the agreed ceasefire deal with Hamas and will continue to attack targets in Gaza adding that Hamas still hasn't provided a list of hostages to be released.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu warned on Sunday morning that Israel will delay the Gaza ceasefire, which was scheduled to start at 0630GMT, unless Hamas hands over the list of names of hostages who will be released.
Hamas responded to Netanyahu's threat and justified the delay in sending the hostages list due to 'technical reasons'. It also confirmed its commitment to the terms of the agreement.
The Gaza ceasefire deal between Hamas and Israel takes effect at 0630GMT, according to the agreed timeline of mediators Qatar, Egypt, and the US.
