Four officers and two soldiers were killed west of Baghdad Monday after mortar rounds hit an Iraqi army base, according to Agence France-Presse.
The attack reportedly occurred in the Abu Ghraib area near the capital.
Monday's violence follows Saturday's deadly "operation" against militants in Anbar that left five senior officers and 10 soldiers dead.
Over 6, 650 people have been killed in Iraq in 2013 alone, according to AFP figures.
