A suicide car bomb hit a police bus in Baquba, some 65 km northeast of Baghdad, on Monday, killing seven police recruits and injuring five others, an Interior Ministry source told Xinhua. Elsewhere, gunmen in the capital killed five workers, police said.
Meanwhile, the Iraqi minister of industry escaped unhurt when a roadside bomb hit his convoy in southeastern Baghdad on Monday, an Interior Ministry confirmed. "Usama al-Najafai, minister of industry, survived unhurt in the blast which targeted his convoy on the highway near the Camp Sara district," the source said. The powerful blast damaged two vehicles of the convoy, he added.
