ALBAWABA - The Iranian Embassy in Lebanon posted on X (formerly Twitter) a statement mourning the killing of an Iranian woman in the Jounieh region.

In the post, the embassy wrote that an "anti-human drone strike" killed an Iranian woman, named Masoumeh Karbaschi, along with her husband in Lebanon on October 19.

The statement also strongly condemned the "brutal Zionist" attacks targeting civilians. The embassy also showed condolences to the children and relatives of the Iranian female.

Earlier, Israeli news outlets revealed that military forces conducted a drone strike leading to the death of two people driving on the highway in Jounieh on Saturday.

Today, the Iranian Embassy in Lebanon released a statement that the woman killed in the attack was Iranian and that she was killed along with her husband.

According to Lebanese media, the attack on Jounieh was the first one in the area since the start of the tension between Hezbollah and Israel in October 2023.

AFP reporter said the strike took place on the highway connecting Beirut to northern Lebanon, prompting a large deployment of troops and security forces.
