Iranian police detain nearly 300 in '\'corruption'\' raids

Police in Iran have arrested 297 people during separate raids on gangs of "prostitution, distribution of immoral CDs and video films as well as drug trafficking" in Zanjan province, northwestern Iran, according to a Monday newspaper report. 

 

Provincial police official Gholam-Hossein Aghagolzadeh told Resalat the raids had smashed five prostitution rings in the cities of Zanjan and Abhar, where 50 men and 22 women were detained. (Albawaba.com)
