Iranian parliament members on Sunday censured Foreign Minister Kamal Kharazi for holding talks recently with his Iraqi counterpart Naji Sabri.
The motion of censure was passed by 100 reformist members of parliament, who savaged their colleague for holding talks that they feared could damage Tehran’s image, according to IRNA news agency.
"While the international community has decided - even if rather late - to put an end to the rule of Saddam Hussein, unfortunately, our foreign minister, by his rash and unpredictable actions and decisions ... has created the impression of (Iranian) support for Iraq and Saddam," the motion read.
Moreover, they scolded Kharazi for not "being active enough in telling the world about (Iranian) victims of Iraqi chemical weapons" during the 1980-1988 war. (Albawaba.com)
