The bombing of the holy shrines of Imam Hadi (AS) and Imam Hassan Askari in Iraq is indicative of the abject failure of the enemies of Islam, said Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad in the western city of Shahr-e Kord. Addressing a large number of local officials and scholars upon his arrival in the city, the president strongly condemned the "terrorist" act, saying it has its roots in the weakness and failure of the enemies of Islam and especially Israel and the US.
"Those who have seen defeat from the wisdom of Islam express their anger through savage acts such as by insulting Muslim sanctities," Ahmadinejad pointed out, according to IRNA. "These passive activities are the acts of a group of defeated Zionists and occupiers who intended to hit our emotions," he stated.
"A number of uncivilized and bloodthirsty people who have no regard for humanity think they can undermine the good intentions of Muslims and revolutionary people through such acts," the president lashed out.
He warned the enemies of Islam to be careful when committing such acts as the Islamic ummah (nations) "will encounter them more seriously and with determination now than ever before with their determination to achieve their longstanding revolutionary aspirations," the Iranian leader stressed.
