ALBAWABA - Iranian media to say that an airstrike by Israeli fighter jets killed a high-ranking officer and advisor in the Iranian Revolutionary Guard. The attack was aimed at a housing complex in the southern Syrian city of Baniyas.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights says that the attack killed Zarei and three other Iranian leaders in the seaside area of Baniyas. The attack also hit a building where Iranian militias lived, setting off three strong explosions that scared people in the area.

The head of the Syrian Observatory, Rami Abdulrahman, talked about how important the attack was. He said that the area in Baniyas that was attacked has a history of being against Iranian influence, which shows that there is a bigger threat to Iranian-backed groups working in Syria. This is the first attack of this kind in Baniyas in three years, which makes it even more important.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said earlier today that there had been three big explosions near the coast of Syria in Baniyas and the places around it. The strikes have made things more tense in the area and show how the war between Israel, Iran, and their allies in Syria is still going on.

With tensions still high in Gaza, Israel has increased its military operations in Syria, mainly targeting Hezbollah and other groups with ties to Iran.

The airstrike in Baniyas is another worsening of the unstable security situation in the area. It shows how complicated the war in Syria is.
