Spokesman of the Iranian foreign ministry Hamid Assefi said Sunday in a press statement that current socio-political changes in Bahrain were "positive."
Reformist moves such as forming a parliament and granting voting rights to women are "building blocks for wide-spread public integration into the political system " of Bahrain, and will ultimately lead to "progress and a bright future for Bahrain and its people," said the statement, cited by the Iranian official news agency (IRNA).
The new steps taken by the kingdom of Bahrain represents a solid basis for continuing good ties between it and Iran, the statement said. (Albawaba.com)
