Iran's Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki said Friday that Tehran believes the ideas for opening an American interests section in Tehran and inauguration of a direct flight between Iran and the US are worth considering by the two sides. "Over recent years, students, academics, researchers and also tourists have been voicing interest in travelling Iran from the US.
Iran welcomes the popular link. In response to the call and also (to address) the need of our dear compatriots in the US, we suggested in the past establishment of a direct air link between Iran and the US. Sometimes ago the idea of establishment of the US interests section in Iran was raised non-officially and through media. And we think that both the Iran-US direct flight and the idea of establishment of the US interests section in Iran can be considered by the two sides," said Mottaki.
