Iran's Foreign Ministry has summoned the British Ambassador to Tehran, Richard Dalton, to protest against human rights violation in the European Union states, especially in Britain.
In the meeting with Dalton, whose country holds the EU rotatory chairmanship, Director General of Iran's Foreign Ministry for West Europe Affairs, Ebrahim Rahimpour, expressed concern about the violation of the rights of minorities especially Muslims residing in Britain and other EU states.
Accordin to IRNA, he also protested inspection of mosques and houses, arrest and torture of Muslims, destruction of their graves, profanity in certain European states, ban on performance of religious duties, imprisonment of many Muslims and the UK government's attempt to adopt a bill on arrest of individuals, especially Muslims, under the pretext of campaign against terrorism, saying the cases have made officials and people in many Muslim states concerned.
