ALBAWABA- The White House announced on Tuesday that the U.S. has intelligence indicating Iran is preparing to imminently launch a ballistic missile attack against Israel.
“We have indications that Iran is poised to launch an attack soon. The U.S. is actively supporting Israel's defensive preparations to counter this threat.
A direct military strike from Iran will have severe consequences," a senior White House official warned in a statement.
IDF Spokesperson Daniel Hagari commented on the White House's warning of an imminent Iranian missile attack, confirming that Washington has informed Israel about Iran's preparations to launch missiles.
However, Hagari clarified, "We have not detected any current air or missile threats toward Israel from Iran.
That said, any Iranian attack will have severe consequences, though I will not elaborate further. Any rocket fire from Iran will be met with significant repercussions."
Tensions between Israel and Iran have escalated in recent weeks, particularly as Israel intensifies its operations against Hezbollah, an Iran-backed militant group, in southern Lebanon.
On Monday, Israel launched a ground offensive targeting Hezbollah positions in the region.
