ALBAWABA- Israel has informed the United States that a ground operation in southern Lebanon is imminent and could begin as early as tonight, according to a CBS report quoting an American official. 

While US sources speaking to Al Jazeera do not expect a full-scale invasion, they anticipate limited ground raids targeting Hezbollah infrastructure near the Israeli-Lebanese border.

The New York Times reports that Israeli reserve soldiers have already gathered at key points in northern Israel in preparation for potential ground maneuvers into Lebanon. 

According to US officials cited by the Financial Times, Washington is concerned that this operation could escalate into a prolonged occupation of the border area.

The US believes Israel may seek to establish a buffer zone in southern Lebanon to secure the return of Israeli residents to northern communities.

ABC News, quoting senior American officials, confirmed that Israel's primary objective is to dismantle Hezbollah’s infrastructure along the border and withdraw after achieving its goal.

Meanwhile, social media videos show artillery strikes along the Lebanese border, heightening fears of a broader conflict.

Iran's foreign minister warned Israel against complacency, stating that "the Israeli enemy should not rejoice over the blow it has dealt, but should be concerned about the future that awaits it." As tensions rise, the region braces for further developments in the unfolding crisis.
