Nuclear talks between Iran and the P5+1 powers are currently at a stalemate, putting into jeopardy the June 30 deadline established for the agreement going into the negotiations, Reuters reported on Friday.
Russian news agency TASS quoted a diplomatic source as saying, “The process has virtually stalled, there is risk the deadline will have to be postponed again.”
The source added that no significant progress was made in the latest round of talks in Vienna on Friday, Reuters reported.
Jeff Rathke, a State Department spokesman for the Obama administration, refused comments to Reuters on the progress of the negotiations on Friday, saying, “we've said all along that we're not going to negotiate in public."
"We remain of the view that it is possible to conclude the talks by June 30," Rathke added. "That remains our focus."
