A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed between Iran and Libya at the end of the 9th session of the two countries' joint economic cooperation commission, in the presence of Iranian Minister of Housing and Urban Development Ali Abdolalizadeh and Libyan Secretary for Justice and Public Security Muhammad Ali al- Mosrati.
In the MoU both Iran and Libya stressed commercial, economic and customs cooperation as well as encouraging joint investments, enhanced trade exchanges and participation in exhibitions.
Cooperation in the fields of education, security, communication, transportation, housing and urbanization, agriculture and animal husbandry are also envisioned in the memorandum.
Both sides also welcomed the establishment of a committee to follow up the implementation of the mutually-reached agreements as well as holding joint commission sessions in Tehran and Tripoli.
The 10th session of the two countries' joint economic cooperation commission is to be held in Tripoli next year.
