At least 34 people have been killed in Pakistan after a major earthquake hit Iran on Tuesday near the border with Pakistan, officials in Pakistan told AFP. The US Geological Survey says the 7.8 magnitude quake struck at a depth of 95 kilometers (59 miles).
The quake hit approximately 86km south east of the city Khash, according to the USGS. The city has appopulation of 56,000.
The quake was felt across the Middle East, with reports on social media saying it was felt across the Gulf. Tremors were also felt in the Indian capital Delhi.
Last Tuesday, 37 people died in Iran as another quake hit close to one of the Islamic Republic's nuclear power sites.
Iran's last 6.3 magnitude earthquake hit Tabriz in August 2012, causing over 300 fatalities.
