Iran to Buy MI-8 Choppers from Russian Republic

Iran is to buy more MI-8 helicopters from Buryatiya, a republic within the Russian Federation, reported the official news agency (IRNA), citing agencies.  

Russian Itartas news agency on Thursday quoted Mehdi Safari the Iranian ambassador in Russia as saying during a visit to the capital of the republic, Ulan Ude, that Iran has decided to open a special line of credit for airplane manufacturers in the Buryatiya.  

The Iranian ambassador said that Iran might shortly have a 20 percent share in the total value of the foreign trade of Buryatiya  

Mehdi Safari also met with Leonid Putapov, the president of the republic Thursday and also visited the plants that manufacture equipment for Sokho-29 war planes, said the agency – Albawaba.com
