ALBAWABA- The Iranian Ministry of Interior has officially announced the names of the candidates eligible to run in the upcoming fourteenth round of presidential elections.

The approved candidates include Saeed Jalili, Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf, Ali Reza Zakani, Amir Hossein Qazizadeh Hashemi, Mostafa Pourmohammadi, and Masoud Pezeshkian.

Despite their prominent roles in Iran's political landscape, former president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and former parliament speaker Ali Larijani are absent from the list.

This election, scheduled for July, comes at a critical time as the nation seeks to elect a new president following the tragic death of President Ebrahim Raisi in a helicopter crash last May near the Iranian-Azerbaijani border.

On June 3, the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei urged for a grand and honorable election.

He advised the presidential candidates to maintain moral integrity during the campaign for the vote scheduled on June 28, which will determine the successor to the late President Ebrahim Raisi.
