The Saudi Kingdom is holding 90 people with proven links to Osama bin Laden's al-Qaeda network, all of whom have been referred to court, the kingdom's interior minister said in remarks published Tuesday.

"Those proved to have joined the (al-Qaeda) network number about 90 people. They have been referred to court," Prince Nayef bin Abdul Aziz told Okaz, adding that the total number of detainees was 253.

"The remaining detainees are under interrogation. Available evidence indicate that they have links (to al-Qaeda), but we have to make sure by interrogating them.

"Their links to al-Qaeda vary ... Those found innocent are freed. We have already freed a large number of those detained for questioning," Prince Nayef said. (Albawaba.com)
