Indonesian President Abdurrahman Wahid left here Saturday to attend the Organization of Islamic Countries (OIC) summit in Doha, Qatar, after which he will fly on to Brunei for the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit.
State television showed Wahid boarding a flight for Doha, the venue of the OIC summit, which some 55 Islamic state leaders and UN Secretary General Kofi Annan are scheduled to attend.
State Protocol Chief Rahmad Ranuwidjaja was quoted by the state Antara news agency as saying Wahid had planned several bilateral meetings in Doha, including one with Annan.
He is expected to leave Doha before the summit closing ceremony to enable him to attend the opening of the APEC summit in Brunei on November 14-16 – JAKARTA (AFP)
