An official academic delegation from Indiana University (ISU), USA, visited Abu Dhabi University (ADU) recently in order to observe the rapid development and success of ADU and to discuss possibilities of cooperation between the two institutions. The ISU delegation included Dr. Lloyd Benjamin III, President of ISU, Dr. Wieke Wejjden Benjamin from the President’s office and Mr. El-Houcin Chaqra, Associate Director of the International Affairs Center.
The delegation met with HE Ali Saeed Bin Harmal Al Dhaheri, Chairman of the Executive Board of Governors of ADU, Dr. Mohamed Khalifa, ADU Provost and Dr. Thomas Davies, Director of Institutional Research and Planning Department, among other senior ADU management.
HE Ali Saeed Bin Harmal Al Dhaheri commented that this visit plays an important strategic role for ADU, which positions itself as a principal institution in the country and the region. “We cordially welcome our visitors from ISU to the UAE. Bilateral cooperation is vital if ADU is to properly prepare students of the region and strengthen the national cadre and consequently the economy which nourishes the developmental needs of both the private and governmental sectors. ADU has its doors open to all visitors from around the world, “he added. “Abu Dhabi has gone very far in a very short time. The education sector in the capital of the UAE is developing at an intensive speed and has reached international standards as more local universities continue to cooperate with academic institutions from around the world. We have benefited greatly from ISU’s visit and look forward to future collaboration.”
