Indian fashion will come under the spotlight at the ninth edition of The Bride Show Dubai 2006 with Indian designers showcasing their exclusive collections of traditional Arab and Indian bridal and formal attire at the Dubai International Exhibition Centre from April 4 to 7.
The largest exhibition of its kind in the Middle East, The Bride Show Dubai 2006 enjoys the patronage of Her Highness Sheikha Manal Bint Mohammad Bin Rashed Al Maktoum, wife of His Highness Sheikh Mansour Bin Zaayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Presidential Affairs, and President of Dubai Ladies Club.
Karisma Kapoor, Bollywood heart-throb and icon of Bombay filmdom's legendary Kapoor clan, will lend glamour to The Bride Show Dubai 2006 by visiting the event in her capacity as Brand Ambassador for Eros Jewellery, which will exhibit its range of branded 18 carat gold jewellery with diamond and stones and the Amrapalli collection.

Founder of two of the best fashion stores in India—Heritage and L’Affaire—Paul is an extremely versatile designer who has innovated the very form and drape of the traditional saree and salwaar kameez.
Former Miss India and jewellery-designer Queenie Dhody returns with her exquisite range of fashionable, flawless and superior jewellery that includes diamond, platinum and ruby sets, rings and traditional jewellery, after successful exhibitions in USA, Mumbai, Delhi and Dubai. Similarly, Sagar Mehra will exhibit his collection of bridal and fusion clothes for the first time in Dubai, after eliciting huge response from the Indian expatriate communities in the US, UK and other parts of the world.
The event will also see Renu Dadlani, a revivalist of the age-old Lucknawi Chikankari style, unveiling her Kashmiri Needlework Collection that features her skilled karigars which speak for her mastery and finesse in blending tradition with modernity in each garment and reflect her taste of colours and concepts.
Presenting fashion from a fresh and attractive perspective, Bishop’s Trading Company will launch, its first collection of traditional Arab designer wear such as abayas, sheylas and jalabiyas, while Poonam Khetam will showcase her range of elegant, intricately hand-embroidered and vibrantly coloured jalabiyas and sheylas for the fashion-conscious Arab visitor, and her unique, carefully designed sarees, suits and lehengas for the expatriate Indian community at The Bride Show 2006.
The Bride Show Dubai 2006 will also offer visitors a vast choice in branded and locally made traditional and contemporary jewellery, gems and watches. The event will bring together 250 exhibitors from 12 countries showcasing an array of bridal gowns and accessories, henna costumes, evening wear, groom’s apparel, textiles and beauty and hair services and products. It will also feature the latest trends and services offered by hotels and venues, wedding organisers, sound, light and entertainment companies, photography and video production professionals, floral and stage designers, wedding stationery suppliers, gift boutiques and stores, wedding caterers and financial institutions.
Responding to visitors’ growing interest in wedding gifts and home interiors, The Bride Show Dubai 2006 has introduced the Ambiente Al Bayt Al Arabie exhibition this year, which will showcase over 100 leading brands in gifts, homeware, interior and outdoor décor, furniture and furnishings by 60 exhibitors for Emirati and affluent Arab and expatriate homeowners from the region. The event will run concurrently with The Bride Show Dubai 2006.
