Palestinian house torched in apparent "price tag" attack

Jewish extremists responded to a knife-attack on Israeli soldier by setting fire to a Palestinian home in the village of Sinjil, northeast Ramallah on Wednesday. 

Five Palestinian children who were inside were evacuated to the hospital and are being treated for smoke inhalation, but no other injuries were reported. 

The vandalz set fire to the front of Dar Khalil family's home and spray painted the words "regards from Eden revenge" in Hebrew, referring to the name of the killed soldier. 

Atias, 18, was stabbed to death Wednesday while sleeping on a public bus at the Afula central bus station by a 16-year-old Palestinian. However, there's no apparent connection between the 16-year old Palestinian and the Dar Khalil family. 

"I woke up at 2:00 am (0000 GMT), and four or five people came out of a white car and started breaking windows, then poured gasoline, then threw fire into the house," mother-of-five Ruweida Dar Khalil told Agence France Presse.

"My kids were sleeping, I was scared to death, my kids almost died, I couldn't even touch the doorknob, it was so hot."

The incident is considered as typical of “price tag” activism,  a term used by Jewish extremists which  encompasses acts of vandalism or violence, typically carried out by right-wing activists as revenge for attacks on Israelis.
