The 26 year old Algerian football player Hocine Achiou has been meeting the representatives of the French Club AJ Auxerre to sign a contract. <i>Liberte Algeria</i> reports that Achiou played until 2005 in the popular Algerian football club "USM Algiers". Achiou was also part of the Algerian 2004 African Nations Cup team, who finished second in their group in the first round of competition before being defeated by Morocco in the quarter-finals. In the 2004 African Nations Cup, Achiou scored a goal against Egypt, which carried Algeria into the quarter-finals.
