Hezbollah Tuesday destroyed a tunnel used by Syrian rebels that links a key border city to a village on its southeastern outskirts, a source close to the group told The Daily Star.
The source said that the 360-meter tunnel passed under the main highway linking Zabadani, located 8 km from Lebanon’s eastern border, to the village of Madaya.
A number of militants were killed in Tuesday’s attacks on rebel positions, the source added, one day after Hezbollah and the Syrian army captured the main entrance to Zabadani, blocking access to Madaya.
