ALBAWABA - In a statement earlier today, Hamas chief Ismail Haniyeh, assured that after days of talks between Hamas and the Israeli war government, a truce deal is closer than ever.

"The movement has submitted its response to the brothers in Qatar and the mediators, and we are approaching a truce agreement," said Haniyeh, without providing further details regarding the deal.

According to the Israeli newspaper Haaretz, a number of hostages' family members withdrew from a meeting with members of the Israeli government on Monday evening.

"Many relatives of Israelis held hostage by Hamas in Gaza withdrew from a meeting with members of the war government on Monday, expressing disappointment when told that the goals of freeing the hostages and overthrowing Hamas are equally important" Haaretz reported.

Later on Monday, Israel approved the conditions set by the Palestinian group Hamas for a prisoner swap deal and is now waiting for the group’s response, Israeli state media reported.
