An Israeli peace activist who disappeared Thursday in Hebron, and survived a kidnapping by the islamic Resistance Hamas movement was finally located Saturday afternoon, reported Haaretz newspaper.

It said that Yitzhak Magrafta, 25, had gone to Hebron on behalf of left-wing humanitarian organizations to distribute food and blankets to Palestinians in the West Bank city.

According to the paper, Magrafta was abducted Thursday by members of Hamas, after which he was bound and held in a cave in the mountains until Friday morning.

He was released and handed over to the Israeli-Palestinian liaison office following the intervention of various organizations and individuals, including Arab member of Knesset Ahmed Tibi.

The peace activist was questioned at the liaison office and then by Israeli security forces before being released Friday afternoon. However, he then disappeared, failing to return home or contact anyone, said the report -- Albawaba.com
