Gulf Navigation hosts a Press Round Table in their Main Office in Dubai

Gulf Navigation Holding (GulfNav), the leading ship owning and maritime service company, hosted a Press Round Table session for some of the major English publications in the region, which took place today, the 13th Jan in their head office in Dubai.
The session started with an introductory presentation by the CEO of the company, Per Wistoft, followed by a brief about the business volumes that the company achieved in 2009 along with some highlights about the firm's future plans for expansion and development.
The Round Table was finally concluded with a Q&A session by the group of journalists, and feedback was given by the CEO who clearly explained the company's aim and aspiration to expand in the near future, by adding more specialized and modern ships to its fleets.
"GulfNav is a cash rich company, the thing that enables it to have a very strong position in the market and also allows it to keep its eyes opened in order to capture valuable opportunities. We constantly challenge ourselves to overcome any difficulty we face, and simply work on delivering what we have promised our clients no matter what circumstances we face. One of our key responsibilities is to continuously provide our customers with modern state-of-the-art products and services by using the best types of carriers that are suitable for the different types of oil and petrochemicals we lift. As a matter of fact, we are in the process of studying a potential new deal of purchasing more ships, but that will be announced when the deal is closed" stated Per Wistoft, CEO of GulfNav.

 

Wistoft also explained that despite the tough times that the whole world has faced in the previous year, GulfNav was less affected as the company is partly focusing on long-term deals with International companies. that being part  of the company's strategy, and the delivery of new tonnage as planned was, the main contributor in order avoid that kept it away from being in the same situation like similar companies in the field.
He also said that the Petrochemical industry in general wasn't influenced as much in the recent recession, but in fact the whole industry will continue to grow in the future.
